Ultimate Hot Chocolate with Vanilla Whipped Cream

The perfect winter drink - rich, sweet, & silky smooth, topped with pillowy whipped cream.

Ingredients

For the hot chocolate

Topping

  • A sprinkle of cocoa powder and a square or two of chocolate chocolate with toffee and sea salt is pictured finish each serving off nicely!

Instructions

For the whipped cream

  • Beat cream until just begins to thicken.
  • Add remaining ingredients and beat until soft peaks form.

For the hot chocolate

  • Place milk, cream, cocoa powder, maple syrup, and chopped chocolate into saucepan. Whisk constantly over medium heat until smooth and steaming.
  • Remove from heat and whisk in vanilla and salt.
  • Top with whipped cream and cocoa/chocolate squares garnish.

Notes

For Mexican Hot Chocolate or Minty Hot Chocolate, add either a cinnamon stick or a few mint sprigs could be swirled into the steaming chocolate mixture, then removed before serving.
